Best Buy Citibank Number

Hello I have received the letter saying my BB credit card application is not approved and which I never applied. I tried to calling customer service number 888-908-0031 but it is automated service. This is fraud and I want someone to answer this.
If you're not having any luck with that number, you may try the main Best Buy Credit Card Number. This number is 1-888-574-1301. Keep in mind the credit card is ran by Citibank, so they should be able to connect you with the right team. I would also strongly encourage you to keep an eye on your credit card, if you didn't apply in store or online I would be concerned that someone has all of your details and is impersonating you. You may look at locking your credit to prevent new accounts from being open as well as enacting a monitoring service.
I also reported your post, hopefully the moderators will see it and remove the reference number you provided. This is the sort of information a scammer could use to impersonate you when calling Citibank.
I also received the same letter. Without a doubt, this is 100% scam and the best one I have seen so far. The letter, envelope, content, references, etc. look very authentic. As mentioned, they are informing you that your recent Best Buy credit card application was denied. In my case is was due to \"Insufficient number of accounts\". I masked my cell number and called the 1-888-908-0031 number. It is an automated system that is ultimately trying to sucker you into providing your SSN. I do have identity theft protection service and I am not seeing any unaccounted for credit check requests.Amazingly or coincidently the timing of my post is exactly 1 year later from your post (10-22-2021). I am very surprised to see that Best Buy has not taken any counter measures against this scam.
Thank you @JEzra-BBY for your good information. Since the same number (1-888-908-0031) has been reported a year ago by the original poster, and again by me today, can something be done to at least shutdown this number
The routing number for Citibank for domestic wire transfer is 321171184. The routing number for Citibank for international wire transfer is 31100209. If you're sending a domestic wire transfer, you'll just need the wire routing number in this table. If you're sending an international wire transfer, you'll also need a SWIFT code.

When I started reading through the email, the first change notes that My Best Buy members will start receiving free shipping from bestbuy.com with no minimum purchase requirement. This change went into effect on January 9, 2023. Previously, Best Buy had a minimum purchase limit of $35 in order to receive free shipping for any customers.
Lady claimed that she was Best Buy Credit Collector calling on past due account. She called my mobile while I was at work. I told her that I wanted to pay the whole balance off but needed my account information from my house and asked for a number to call her back, which she provided. When I got home, I called Best Buy Credit using the number from my statement (not the one she provided). The balance she gave me did NOT match the amount I truly owed (imagine that!). I paid my balance as planned and closed my account!! I believe this call was fraud! I never give info without verifying who is on the other end.- Anonymous Georgia
They claimed to be Citibank. I called the number back, and I got a very professional recording claiming to be Citibank and asking me for my account number or Social Security number.- Sally Ramsay Florida
I got a call from the same number. I let it ring a few times before I picked it up. Said hello and call was disconnected. I called back and the recording that answered said that it was Citibank, and that I was now in their speech-enabled phone system. Then I hung up...- Mike Nevada
This phone number has bee bothering me every day every second. I answered once by mistake and just was a machine saying that they know I'm busy but it won't take to long. I hung up. But still calling!877-836-5643- Anonymous Florida
This number called me multiple times, and after answering, they would say nothing and then hang up. After calling them back, they wanted me to provide my account and social security numbers. Never to share your social security number (at least the entire thing) over the phone, so I hung up. I got another call the next, and they told me I had a balance of $91.83, whereas, in reality, I have a credit near the mid-high four figures mark. Needless to say, I told them they were full of it and to have a good day .- Anonymous Virginia
They call twice a day everyday from two separate numbers both saying i own money on a best buy credit card. I don't even have a BestBuy account let alone a credit card from them.- Anonymous Pennsylvania
Called about the debt I have on my Best Buy, which is true, I do owe money on my account, only because I never received the bill I was told I would. When telling her this AND how i never received she asked for my address which i gave her because she already knew my name so I assumed she's probably not a scammer, but then she asked me to verify my account by giving her my BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER, I refused and she asked for my \"credit/debit card\" number, again I told her no F*****G WAY, she then offered to transfer me to someone that could help send me my bill and Best Buy card and I was put on hold, then SHE came back only to simply hand the phone to someone else that sounded the exact same, I quickly found an excuse to hang up and then blocked the number.I've never done this Best Buy credit stuff before but I'm pretty sure that they don't ask for such private info.- Anonymous New York
Shows on the caller ID as 540-210-7576. Recorded message about \"Debt Forgiveness\" on voice message. The voice messaging from Verizon shows the number calling as 877-836-5643. Continued calls from 866-491-7864 showing as NORD CARD SVS. Then Shows as Wells Fargo on caller id. Again \"Debt Forgiveness.\"- Anonymous Virginia
Is this just because I asked for the soft inquiry and did not let them do a hard inquiry I don't really care about the BB card that much to worry about it but it does have me a bit confused. I guess I am just surprised that the use of the card has not prompted an account review and credit line increase. I have a Home depot merchant card and it is backed by citibank also. I first received a $2000 limit and his since been increased to $5500 within 12 moths. I am assuming from use and paying it responsibly and early
Ok, so it was Thanksgiving and I decided to call best buy citibank line and asked to talk to a senior analyst. I applied for this card 2 years ago when it was HSBC was the lender for best buy merchant cards (not the mastercard BB card). At that time I was approved with a $600 limit. 2 years later I still have the same $600 limit. I have probably used the card to its max and paid it off 12 or so times in 2 years.
Unless you really need this card, I'd get rid of it. I had the best by card, from chase then sold to cap 1 and then sold to Citi. $600 limit - ridiculous. When I called I was told it will be a hard pull and not guaranteed. Didn't like the analyst's attitude and closed it on the spot. I don't need it. Question is, is the card worth the hard pull for you
I do like the card because I frequent best buy a lot. So when you use the BB card you get a lot of extra point. I have been Premier Silver and now Elite Plus for years... I have managed over $3000 in rewards zone (my bestbuy) points.... so yes I do like the card but not enough to ever allow a hard pull for line increase.
Yeah I can believe that... well if that is their game then so be it... I dont know why citibank behind my Home Depot card did an automatic increase within just a few short months... I assume each merchant division has its own protocol... oh well!
